Day 1 - Durban to Hluhluwe-Umfolozi

Our first day on tours takes us north to Lake St Lucia for a boat cruise, where our encounter with Africa's wildlife begins. The famous Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park is a sanctuary for many species such as flamingo, pelican, fish eagle, and Goliath heron. Your guide will also show you the world of the hippo and the crocodile. From here we travel to the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve, famous for the role it played in saving the white rhino from extinction and now home to the country's largest white rhino population. Tonight we join a night game drive on open safari vehicles to search for shy nocturnal animals. We overnight at one of the rest camps in the park.

Day 2 -  Hluhluwe-Umfolozi to Swaziland

Hluhluwe-Umfolozi is home to all of the Big Five as well as a myriad of smaller, equally fascinating, animals. After an early breakfast we have another game drive before traveling northwards to the mountain Kingdom of Swaziland. We pass Big Bend, the country's largest sugar plantations and Manzini, the industrial centre of Swaziland. We reach the capital Mbabane in time for a short tour before checking into our hotel.

Day 3 - Swaziland to Kruger

We visit the Ngwenya Glass Factory before leaving Swaziland and entering the Kruger National Park. We spend the rest of the day game-viewing in this 2 million hectare reserve, the oldest National Park in Africa, before checking into our accommodation at one of the Parks rest camps.

Day 4 - Kruger to Mohlabetsi

We visit early for a game drive. The Kruger National Park provide sanctuary to 147 mammal species, including the Big Five, as well as over 500 species of bird. We leave the Park and drive to Mohlabetsi Private Game Reserve. This afternoon we climb on an open vehicle for a game drive. We enjoy a safari cuisine dinner under the stars before overnighting in comfortable rondavels.

Day 5 - Mohlabetsi to Pilgrim's Rest

After an early morning walk searching for animals on foot, and breakfast, we depart Mohlabetsi. We ascend the escarpment into the Highveld, taking a scenic drive via some of the spectacular waterfalls in the area. God's Window, Blyde River Canyon and Bourke's Luck Potholes. We overnight at a historic hotel in Pilgrim's Rest.

Day 6 - Pilgrim's Rest to Johannesburg

Pilgrim's Rest is an early gold mining town now turned into a living museum. Rich deposits of alluvial gold were found here at the end of the 19th century, hence the existence of the town deep in the mountains. We make our way back to Johannesburg via Sabie, Dullstroom and Middelburg.
