CLOTHING

South Africa is an area of vast weather variants according to season from 32 degrees in winter up to 98 degrees in the summer months of November – February. You should certainly bring a windproof jacket or a warm sweater and you should have clothes that can be layered.  The Eastern Cape does not have a "rainy season", however, it could rain at any time and you are advised to bring a light rain suit.  Your clothing should be of a neutral color, but camo is allowed in South Africa. John X Safaris provides "daily" laundry service so you are advised to pack "light".  You will need comfortable camp shoes as well as comfortable light weight hunting boots. Even during the warmer months of March – May and October into early November, the evenings can become quite cool so you may wish to bring a light cap as well as sweater and jacket.

Pairs of cotton trousers

Shirts – cotton, long sleeve

Hunting coat, or lightweight brown down jacket

Hat – your choice

                    5 Undershorts

                    5 Undershirts

                                        5 Handkerchiefs

                                        5 Pairs of Socks

Belt

Pair of comfortable camp shoes

Pair of lightweight leather boots, similar to bird hunting boots

Down vest or wool sweater

Pair of lightweight gloves

Laundry is done in camp on a daily basis; the iron content in the water is high and whites will become "dingy or yellowed". I recommend khaki, green or dark colors made of cotton.
