Lalibela  Big Five Game Reserve

Entrance to Lalibela and The Day Center

The Lodges of Lalibela

At all three lodges, secluded thatched chalets are placed where magnificent indigenous gardens merge into the surrounding bus.  Each en-suite unit has a private observation deck to make the most of the views.

The lodges also boast a large lounge, viewing deck and a sunny swimming pool where you can spend a lazy afternoon.  They also have an outdoor dining 'boma' for fireside dinners and open-air brunches, as well as a stylish indoor dining area.

Overnight program check-in is between 12h00 and 14h30.  Lunch is served at 13h00 at reception and at 14h30 you are transferred by Land rover to your lodge.  After high tea we depart on a sunset game drive, returning after night fall for a safari cuisine dinner.   The following morning we have a light breakfast followed by a game drive, returning to the lodge for a sumptuous brunch.  Check-out is at 11h00 and you will be ready to leave the reserve by 12h00.

We recommend a 2-night stay to get the most out of your safari experience.

Originally called "Hillside Camp", Lentaba Lodge was the first of three lodges to be completed on Lalibela Game Reserve, recently voted the # 1 "Big Five" game reserve in the Eastern Cape.

Lentaba has become one of the premier Safari Lodges in South Africa.  It consists of Eight individual chalets, each with private bath, verandah, telephone and even a hairdryer.  Each chalet sleeps either a hunter and guest or two hunters.  In addition to the chalets you will find a beautiful circular open-air dining room which surrounds a comfortable fire, an inside dining room, a large central living area, two bars, a swimming pool and outside entertainment area (Lapa).

MARK'S  CAMP

Mark's Camp was the second camp built on Lalibela and has quickly become a favorite with couples and small groups.  Elephants frequently come to drink at the water hole that is overlooked by the camp.  In the evenings you can enjoy your favorite drink while you wait to see what will visit the waterhole next.

Tree Tops Lodge

Completed in October of 2004, Tree Tops is the newest lodge on Lalibela.  It is the essence of bush luxury.   The chalets have canvas walls which give guests the feel of an African tented safari, while not giving up the luxury of wood floors and true baths.

Tree Tops is a unique Luxury Lodge for select guests.
