Safari Camps
Savanna

One of the most intimate camps we use with only seven luxury tented suites, three of which have their own pools. These suites combine the romance of a tented roof and draped ceiling with the sophistication of a permanent structure.

With limited guests, you will experience exceptional personal service and great attention to detail. Savanna is located in the lower Sabi Sands area adjacent to Kruger National Park. This is one of those Camps that just feels right.

This is where sophistication and pure luxury meet the bush. In the heart of "Big Five" area of the Timbavati lies Royal Malewane with six regal suites that boast every imaginable amenity.

The jewel here is the Royal Suite, the largest and most exclusive in Africa. This ultra luxurious private hideaway accommodates four guests in two en-suite rooms, private lounge and dining facilities, with complimentary services of a 24-hour private butler, private chef and masseur. The dining is a private grand affair with the very best china, silver and crystal. Because of the justifiable demand for this property you will have to reserve your stay well in advance.

This tented camp, in the Thorny Bush Reserve, is authentically furnished in colonial splendor; hand-picked pieces fill the lodge. There are five air-conditioned en-suite tents, furnished with the ambience and comforts typical of a bygone era. You will enjoy scenic views from the vantage of your elevated deck with an active waterhole close by. After your game viewing activities in the evening you can enjoy time around the fire in the boma. Meals are served in the classically appointed dining room, where savory culinary delights are served. You may come as stranger to Chapungu, but every guest leaves as a friend.

Ingwe

Leopard Ingwe is located on its own 24,000 acre Korongwe reserve with all the "Big Five," plus you have a very good chance to see wild dogs. This is one of our favourite places for a family to spend extended time in the bush. There is plenty to do besides game viewing. There are trips inside Kruger Park, African villages to explore, and side trips to the magnificent Blyde River Canyon in the Drakensberg Mountains. Wonderful food and accommodations only compliment the great game viewing. This is an affordable destination, and no one leaves disappointed.

Makutsi

Makutsi Safari Camp is an hours drive from the Kruger National Park. Guests stay in rondavels around the main camp, surrounded by thousands of hectares of raw African bush. Both the restaurant and the bar are built as an open "Lapa," allowing for a relaxed atmosphere. Safaris are done by foot or by open Landrover.

The "Big Five"; elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard are all found here. The safaris on foot allow guests to get very close to the animals, a very exciting experience. The Makutsi Staff, in closed mini-buses, do the Kruger National Park, Blyde River Canyon, and Tribal tours for 5-7 guests. It's a personalized and comfortable way to get to know more about South Africa.
