What People Are Saying

"My June 2014 hunt with your group should be considered a once in a lifetime event, a dream come true. I cannot thank you and your entire team for the hospitality, friendship, professionalism - the comments could go on and on. Your team took care of every detail. This is too awesome of a trip not to share with my family. I will be bringing my daughter out next June to allow her this incredible experience. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you soon."

"The opportunity to shoot in tough conditions was a perfect learning experience. Carl gave us the shooting and the trophies we were after. The Karoo was just like hunting the west, long shots in the wind were mandatory. The coast was like a different world. Chasing big animals in small clearings and big valleys made awesome TV! Thanks again I cannot wait to be back!"

Attempting to recount a South African safari experience can be a very difficult task. Telling stories and sharing photos can only begin to paint a picture of what one can expect to see when hunting plains game. Being my 2nd trip over to hunt with Carl & the John X crew, I wondered if the experience would be less exciting than my maiden voyage. I could not have been more wrong! Hunting from the mountains in the Karoo, to the dense forests on the coast, this trip could not have been scripted any better. The thrill of chasing a new trophy quality animal every day, the stories told around the dinner table each night, and the friendships made that will last a lifetime are just a few of the reasons that a person needs to visit South Africa once in his or her lifetime! ""Good effort, especially considering some tough weather conditions. Very enjoyable hunts in nice habitat – good attention to detail of hunter preferences. We’ve had a good time!"

"On my third trip to S.Africa I once again hunted with my great PH Juan MacDonald. A friend once told me: "You can take my wife, but never take my PH or my toothbrush." That says a little bit what a good PH means. This year’s trophies were Zebra, Blesbuck, Mountain Reedbuck and I also got my second of the tiny ten, a beautiful Steenbuck. I really want to thank all of the wonderful staff who took care of us in the camps."
