JOHN X FOUNDATION

Hunters by nature have a proud legacy of giving back to the passion they hold so dear. The very act of hunting is arguably the finest form of conservation in the world today. In saying this we recognize the necessity of not only giving back by creating a sustainable value for wildlife, but taking responsibility for the survival of this fine tradition we call hunting.

Through this necessity, on a bitterly cold Nebraska night in January 2009, the initial John X Foundation was born in one of our hunter’s trophy rooms. Our good friend, Chris Petersen, had been on numerous previous hunts with John X Safaris, and wanted to “give” something back to the communities and areas he’d enjoyed hunting from before.

Our approach was one where humanitarian initiative combined with education and sustainable wildlife projects would ensure the survival of hunting for generations to come. Through coordinated contributions by our hunters, John X Safaris has been able to spearhead both humanitarian and conservation causes on an annual basis.

Since then the John X Foundation has grown in leaps and bounds – a true testament to the proud hunters that join us on safari each year.

So what can you do to be a part of the John X Foundation?
Quite simply – get involved!

The John X Foundation consists of two main causes, namely Humanitarian and Conservation.

You can help in the following ways:
  • Coordinate providing supplies and items of need through SCI’s Blue Bag program or similar.
  • Make a specific donation or pledge (any size will help) to a targeted John X Foundation humanitarian or conservation project.
  • Give us a budget – we’ll go shopping on your behalf prior to your arrival.
  • Adding a donation to your account with John X Safaris at the end of your safari.
  • Donate to our cause at a Safari Show if you’re not joining us on safari in the near future.
  • Spend some time as a volunteer or get involved with our causes while on safari.
  • Become a vocal advocate for our causes – Stand up for hunting and educate those who see little value in sustainability.
Tax Deductible Documentation – You will have to determine if your donations are tax deductible. The John X Foundation will be happy to assist in providing you with documentation regarding your contributions.

What People Are Saying

"What an adventure for my 12 year old son and myself. Our first safari was incredible. Many thanks to Carl, his staff, and our professional hunter, Stix. They worked patiently with my son and put him into perfect situations. We did not imagine that we would have such great success.
Thank you for the wonderful trophies and unforgettable experience."

"What a spectacular adventure we had in the Eastern Cape and the Karoo with John X Safaris. Years from now, as an old man, I can’t wait to gather my grandchildren around and tell them of my wild adventures in South Africa. I’ll tell them about my legendary P.H., the incredible accommodations, the unmatched hospitality, the breathtaking views, and the most stunning animals I’ve ever seen. It was a trip for the ages!"

"What an incredible experience. John X Safaris far exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful time. It was great to see so much diverse country and we were able to stay several days in three different locations. Everyone was so professional and courteous. You really go the extra mile in taking care of your clients. Our PH, Sean, was awesome, as was the whole staff. This is a trip we will never forget. We are already making plans for our next safari. Thank you!"

"Thank you again for a wonderful experience. Botswana was spectacular, Linda and Clive were wonderful hosts and their staff was professional and very helpful. John and Thomas had a great time hunting and I thoroughly enjoyed taking pictures - our driver even showed me how to pick truffles! Every day we saw noteworthy animals and the guys got the trophies they were after. As for us, this was our 7th trip with John X and surely will not be our last. Thanks again, and until next time!"
