Professional Hunter Request
Our team in Mozambique is a complete separate unit, operating only within Mozambique. From past experience we’ve had numerous requests for particular Professional Hunters (PH), from the hunters’ previous safari in South Africa, to guide/join him/her on their Mozambican hunt. This can be arranged at an extra charge of the flight from Port Elizabeth - Beira - Port Elizabeth for that particular PH.
Please Note - While your South African licensed PH can join you on your Mozambican hunt, he can at no time solely guide you; a registered Mozambican Professional Hunter will always be present together with your South African Professional Hunter, ensuring optimum success for your safari.
The tipping of trackers, camp staff and PH's must always be done in USD$ cash, as staff are often unable to exchange checks.
IF you wish - Tips can be added to the final bill of the safari and tallied to your Safari total.
Check with your Professional Hunter what the norm is on tipping and at all times keep in mind a tip is a bonus greatly appreciated, but not expected.
John X Safaris recommends that ALL clients obtain travel insurance prior to their safari.
In the event of a client canceling a safari less than 6 months prior to the commencement date the safari, the deposit will be forfeited if the dates cannot be rescheduled to alternate dates within the same season, or the following season.
Safaris cancelled more than 6 months prior to the commencement date of the hunt will be refunded the deposit less 25%. This 25% will not be refunded, but can be applied to a future safari with alternate dates within the same season, or the following.
ALTHOUGH UNLIKELY, PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGES WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.

What People Are Saying
Had the most unbelievable Vaal Rhebuck hunting adventure, Stix and the crew worked beyond what can be expected to find, stock and harvest this quality animal. I will always have this hunt in my memory as I do not think it can be easily equaled again, except by Stix, Carl and the crew from John X Safaris. I consider everyone at John X Safaris quality individuals and my friends. Hopefully I will be able to join them in the future again!~ Mark Swanberg '15 from
"The total safari was all above any expectations! The staff and lodging was professional and very kind, always willing to please. The hunting was very good, conducted in a professional, safe, and fun environment. Our PH T-bone was the best!"~ Wade Fairchild '14 from
"In 2001 I went on a once in a lifetime trip with John X Safaris. In 2011 I completed my 6th trip with John X. Obviously I am a believer in the quality of the entire John X experience from the first class accommodations, to the outstanding food, exceptional service and even more importantly - to the quality hunting areas that produce the exceptional trophies I've come to expect. Trip number seven is being planned for 2012 - I simply can't get enough!"~ Brett Nelson '12 from USA
"A wonderful experience - 50 years in the making. The entire staff was outstanding. Especially memorable because I hunted with my son, son-in-law and a good friend. It cannot get any better; hunting in the North was an added bonus I was not expecting. A wonderful, magic place to be on safari."~ Dave Tyner '12 from USA
"If you have already been on a safari, you have come to know that it is more than the hunt … much more! On our 6th safari, we had the good fortune to share JXS with our 2 best friends who were on their 1st safari. And what a safari experience it turned out to be. Everything from riding elephants, to fishing, to hunting waterfowl. The highlight of our experience was being able to take a magnificent Blue Duiker from a ground blind. JXS slogan is “Going the Distance” … and they never cease to amaze us … creating a safari experience that is unmatched anywhere."~ Chris & Marie Petersen '13 from USA
"I loved the beach and feeling like a part of the family with the Van Zyl's."
