Making a difference through The Safari World
John X Safaris is extremely excited to introduce its ‘making a difference campaign” to the safari world.
We have taken on board a children’s shelter in Grahamstown where we are striving to teach the young boys of the shelter extramural skills with the hope of assisting them in finding some form of work when they leave the shelter at the age of 18.
The project was started about a year ago when the boys were offered horse riding lessons. As peculiar as this might seem, this basic concept has already worked its magic on some of our candidates. Not only is it teaching them discipline, but for the first time in many of their lives they are starting to feel a sense of achievement. Some of the boys are being prepared to write their first exam on horse care which will enable them to be employed as groomsman once they have completed the examination.
Currently we are setting up two facets to the project which entail conservation and taxidermy. The young boys will be introduced into the world of these subjects with the hope of benefiting them in the years to come.
The Safari World of John X Safaris with the SCI Humanitarian Foundation, a charitable organization, has introduced the SCI Blue Bag concept to the project. This is an extremely exciting concept that gives our hunters the opportunity of bringing along an SCI Blue Bag and giving them the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of these children.
The project has started off with a bang when our first Blue Bag arrived in style. Keep an eye on our blog to meet these incredible guys who’ve made a difference in the lives of the less fortunate.
