Once you have contacted us with your hunting enquiry, booking can take place via your agent or directly with John X Safaris.
Deposits are non-refundable.
PLAINS GAME: A minimum deposit of 50% / $3000 of the total daily rate is required to confirm a booking, while trophy fees will be determined by the year in which the hunt takes place in UNLESS 100% of the day fee/s is settled which will lock trophy fees at those rates of the year in which a deposit is paid, unless stated differently within your contract.
CAPE BUFFALO: A minimum deposit of $5000 of the total Package is required to confirm a booking, while trophy fees will be determined by the year in which the hunt takes place in UNLESS 100% of the Total Packages is settled which will lock trophy fees at those rates of the year in which a deposit is paid, unless stated differently within your contract.
A hunt is only CONFIRMED once a contract has been undertaken between JXS and the client, and a deposit has been paid. A contract is valid for 14 days from date of issue.
Full payment of the balance of the total daily rate for the safari is due upon arrival at camp.
Trophy fees can be settled at the end of the hunt.
We do accept wires, cash and all leading credit cards. Please note there may be a slight difference in credit card charges from time of payment to when the transaction takes place due to exchange rate fluctuations.
Credit Cards - A 3.5% surcharge will be levied on all credit card transactions.
Any animal wounded/hit, and found OR lost, will be deemed as taken. The full trophy fee will apply.
The preferred method of tipping for trackers, camp staff, safari crews and PH's should be done in USD$ cash. Alternatively, feel free to add tips to the final bill of the safari which can be tallied and added at the end with your remaining hunt balance. Our office will then ensure the various team members are paid out in accordance with your personal wishes.
Check with your Professional Hunter what the norm is on tipping and at all times keep in mind a tip is a bonus greatly appreciated, but not expected.
John X Safaris recommends that ALL clients obtain travel insurance prior to their safari.
In the event of a client cancelling a safari less than 9 months prior to the commencement date of the safari, the deposit will be forfeited if the dates cannot be rescheduled to alternate date/s within the same season.
Safaris postponed/cancelled more than 9 months prior to the commencement date of the hunt will see full deposit value transferable to the following season. Trophy rates will be set at that of the season the hunt takes place in unless daily rates are settled in full to lock in rates for the following season.

To ensure availability, booking is recommended 1 - 2 years in advance.
Our Plains Game Hunts are offered on a daily rate basis allowing the hunter to tailor his/her very own safari, thereby only paying for game harvested/wounded without any packaged quota obligations on the hunters' part.
Our Cape Buffalo hunts are sold as a fully inclusive 7-10 Day single specie package where you can add additional Plains Game to the Buffalo Package.
