For those who enjoy their fishing as much as hunting, there is great fun for all as we trade our shooting sticks and rifles for rods and reels. Choose from a day of offshore fishing on the Indian Ocean or spend the day meandering the tidal inshore estuaries.

For a day of deep sea fishing we travel a mere one hour from Woodlands Safari Estate to Port Alfred. From Port Alfred, you will experience a river mouth launch, an exhilarating run through the breakers and a day of fishing sensation.

We offer both bottom fishing and deep sea trolling giving the angler the option of fishing along our rugged coast or traveling out to the warm Mozambican current. While bottom fishing, anglers will mostly target; Cape Salmon, Scotchman, Cape Stump Nose, Sand Fish, Cob and Black Mussel Cracker.

On weather permitting days, trips to the Islands in search of Yellow Tail Tuna for a day of trolling is a must. May through July is the best time for Yellow Fin Tuna, and August through October, the best for Yellow Tail Tuna. Anglers can expect bottom fishing to be good throughout the year.

For those who may prefer a slightly more relaxing fishing experience, why not head out on a river fishing expedition on one of our local estuaries. Target species such as Cob, White Steenbras, Skip-Jack and our favorite, Spotted Grunter. These are pound for pound one of the most impressive fighting fish on light tackle, and make for incredible eating. 

Fishing licenses, gear, tackle, bait, food and drinks are provided on all fishing trips, but do ensure bookings are made well in advance to ensure availability and maximum opportunity for success. All fishing trips are weather/ocean dependent.
