Sea To Sky | John X Safaris
Phillip and Jess have been part of the John X Safaris family for many years. We have been privileged to share some amazing hunts and memories spanning multiple safaris and areas, and enjoyed an incredible friendship over that time.
This safari was focused heavily on Jess hunting a Cape buffalo with the bow and then targeting any game that was possible to get in range.
The Cape buffalo hunt lived up to all expectations- thick, deep canyons, stalking multiple times, fighting adverse weather, and eventually getting our opportunity at very close range with a small window in which to make it happen!
Some unsuccessful mountain hunts for Klipspringer and Vaal Rhebuck kept the team humble and reminded us that hunting success is never guaranteed, but left us marveling at the beauty of the mountains we are so fortunate to hunt.
Jess grew as a bow hunter, harvesting multiple species with some very different and difficult shots from the tiny target of a Blue Duiker to an impossibly challenging upward angle on a Caracal treed by hounds.
This safari was a highlight in their African hunting adventures with their PH Stix and one that will be talked about for years to come.
