No Objections | The Lytal Family

19th August 2026

Trey has been to South Africa before, but this trip wasn’t just about him. This time, he brought his family along so they could experience Africa for themselves. Not through stories or photos, but by being on the ground, hearing the sounds, and understanding firsthand why this place gets into your blood.

Trey also came back with unfinished business. He wanted to better the Cape buffalo he had taken previously in South Africa, and the valley thicket of The East Cape provided the right terrain for that pursuit. Along the way, he was fortunate to take a Kudu and a Nyala — species which thrive in this part of Africa.

For Lake, this was something different. He took a Kudu, Waterbuck, Gemsbuck, and Warthog here. A hunt that fit him perfectly as a junior hunter. Good opportunities as well as lessons, that will stay with him far longer than the trophies themselves.

Jordan stepped into the hunt for the first time and made it count. She took her very first animal, a Lechwe, and proved herself a true markswoman; calm, capable, and ready when the moment came.

Beyond the hunts, having the entire family in camp was a true highlight. The laughs we shared, the stories around the fire, and the simple joy of experiencing this wild country together made this trip something none of us will ever forget.
