Deer Hunting in Africa
Few people would relate Africa with Deer Hunting and yet we have some of the most amazing free-ranging deer hunting on the planet. Our deer’s main growing season takes place from November each year into January and February with most stags coming out of velvet during mid to late February. By mid-April the valleys are filled with the echoing sounds of grunting Fallow Deer as their rut marks one of the most exciting periods for hunting in our calendar.
Our old friend Cable Smith joined Professional Hunter, Carl van Zyl, as they made the most of their early season hunt. The stags weren’t grunting yet and the rut was a mere few weeks away. It was never going to be easy, but that’s the challenge of the chase….
Enjoy this first of its kind…
We are happy to report that all went as planned with Cable on his return home to the US. The system proved to be hassle free and with a simple negative PCR Covid-19 test result taken within 72 hours prior to departure from the US/SA we are confident that you too will experience the same scenario on your safari to Africa during 2021.
Contact us today for more information on our hunts and feel free to mail Carl directly on hunting@johnxsafaris.co.za with your specific safari requests or quotes. We look forward to hearing from you and sharing a campfire in Africa.
