Safari Report – Rindlisbacher & Petersen Families from Utah..
The Rindlisbacher and Petersen families joined us on safari during April for what was to be their first trip to Africa. Having spoken to a number of our old friends in Utah both these families had a good idea of what they were after. Some wonderful days were spent in both the south and the north as they not only got to know our part of the world, but hunted a variety of impressive animals.
While both Doug, Parley and Troy were seasoned hunters, and their ability out in the field was a joy to witness, a certain highlight for all of us was seeing the ladies join in on the action and impressing us to no end! A couple of Zebra for Trisha and Fran respectively might have unleashed the “huntress” in them for many years to come.

What a great experience – we loved every minute of it! It by far exceeded our expectations. Everyone was wonderful and the wildlife was spectacular. We look forward to many more adventures with our new African family.

I don’t even know how to begin….
This experience exceeded very high expectations in every way and was truly a trip of a lifetime. The food and service were out of this world as we tried new dishes daily. Rusty is an amazing PH and Old John a pleasure to have along as our tracker. Both these men are now dear friends to our family. These past two weeks will forever be etched in our hearts and we hope to return again. In short perfect in every way. Thanks Carl and team!
Doug Petersen
Where do I start! This safari has been amazing. There has not been a day that was not an adventure for me. The scenery and game were intriguing and a challenge to pursue. There was never a dull moment with Rusty as our PH or Old John as our tracker. The rest of the team were great and knew how to make us feel right at home. I personally truly appreciated the respect I received even though I’m only 18. A dream safari in every way.
Parley Petersen
A spectacular ten days were shared with new friends who literally left as family, but not before we honored an upstanding young man. Parley Petersen was without a doubt one of the most respectful and exemplary young hunters we’ve ever hosted at John X Safaris. As a going away gift we decided to go old school and offered Carl’s 416 Rigby and a management Warthog. The only requirement was for Parley to make the shot within 25 yards and naturally with peep sites. As expected ~ The young man did not disappoint!
We are happy to report that all went as planned with the group on their return home to the US. The system proved to be hassle free and with a simple negative PCR Covid-19 test result taken within 72 hours prior to departure from the US/SA we are confident that you too will experience the same scenario on your safari to Africa during 2021.
Contact us today for more information on our hunts and feel free to mail Carl directly on hunting@johnxsafaris.co.za with your specific safari requests or quotes. We look forward to hearing from you and sharing a campfire in Africa.
