Season 2022 | The Midway Point…
With June rolling around and the peak of the Kudu rut upon us it marks the midway point of our season. As I pencil this letter in reflection pausing to take stock of our season thus far, and while doing so skimming through pictures from various hunts, I find myself quietly content. Our teams have once again delivered on a promise we’ve kept since 1983.
Our hunters have again been treated to a feast of quality dominated by the high standards we have set ourselves. Together with the record summer rains and an ongoing long-term vision it is rewarding to see the results making their way into the skinning shed. It is not always easy walking away from the big breeder, but it is the single most important aspect in our ideology necessary for the future. It has been a vision that we have asked you as a hunter to buy into and man have you been rewarded for those efforts by fellow hunters over the past five years. The future is a bright one as the quality of the game keeps on improving year in and year out.
Our hunts are not merely hunts. They are so much more than that. They are journeys laced with a camaraderie from yesteryear which is the essence of what we like to refer to as the East Cape Experience. It is evenings around the campfire or the pub. It is a culinary feast overflowing with the plentiful bounty of the hunt where the hunt is enjoyed beyond the pictures and prized memories. It is friendships made through experiences shared that I find quite difficult to explain at times. It is rewarding to say the very least….
Here’s to the second half of our season and the adventures that await.
Yours in hunting,
