A Peruvian’s Return to Africa

Luis Duharte first joined us on safari to South Africa during 2021. At the time we knew very little of Luis, but by the time that first hunt had come to an end we knew we had a friend in him for life. Consequently since then we have visited with Luis in the US and met his wonderful family, only to see him return to the East Cape once again this season.

On this occasion he once again teamed up with his long-standing PH Ed Wilson, Tracker Ropsie, Hunting Hound Django and Cameraman Ozzy. A Cape Buffalo was what Luis had set his sites on, but a few unexpected adventures cropped up along the way as the team navigated their way in and around the vast herds of Cape Buffalo. Finding Buffalo was not the challenge, but finding the right kind of old bull proved harder than even they would have imagined…
