Foundation Report 2023 | For the Kids of Carlisle Bridge

23rd November 2023

This year has been one of regrouping at the John X Foundation and our beloved Carlisle Bridge Country School.

With numerous building projects at the school over the past six years taking the lion’s share of funds, this year we focused on capacity and maintenance.

With our continued developments of the school and surroundings we have seen more kids than ever before expressing a desire to be scholars at Carlisle Bridge. The pride it has given our community is something quite remarkable to witness, but with that has come capacity challenges.

Previous developments were done with a number of under a hundred scholars, but today we’re sitting at over 100 and growing.

Upgrades to both the solar electrical system and a greater water supply were our two biggest priorities. The ever popular stationary supplies, sports equipment and meat drops for school lunches continued as before with many of our hunters getting involved. Reliable internet access to support the teaching staff was secured and has made a massive difference in the teachers day to day activities.

A new coat of paint and our ongoing tree planting efforts, as well as a school vegetable garden has seen us starting to realise our vision of prosperity. We want people to notice our little school as it’s  our communities place of pride. In an arid land an oasis is hope, and so too is what we want it to be for the kids of our region.

Next year sees an exciting project ahead of us as we plan to raise funds for a new kitchen and dining canteen. It will be our biggest project yet, but one we’re excited to take on.

In closing, at this time of Thanksgiving, on behalf of my team and I we would like to thank each and every one of you who has been involved with our Foundation activities this season. These projects do not happen without hunters funding and a desire from you to make a difference. Know that your efforts are making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate and know that our community appreciates it beyond words. Thank you.

Here’s to a big year ahead at the Foundation and Carlisle Bridge Country School.

With continued appreciation,

Carl & Team / The John X Foundation
